A Quaker Trans Day of Visibility

Sunday, March 29, 2026 • 9:30am–5:30pm ET
Swarthmore Friends Meeting and Swarthmore College
Hybrid: in-person and online
Register now!

Friends are invited to a day of worship, witness, and discernment centered on transgender, nonbinary, and intersex Quaker lives. All are welcome, however you can participate, online & in-person.

Ten authors from the March 2026 Friends Journal special issue on gender and sexual identities join trans and nonbinary moderators for facilitated conversation. Not presentations, but deep engagement with what their stories ask of our meetings, our witness, and each other.

Opening and closing in worship. Musical interludes. Witnessed commitments.

This Quaker TDoV gathering is co-hosted by Swarthmore Friends Meeting, Swarthmore College Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, Baltimore Yearly Meeting, Friends Journal, and Pendle Hill.

Registration is open now! Registration is free, and you must pre-register to attend the event (online or in person). There's an optional $13.50 fee if you want a meal with your in-person registration. You are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer.

We are committed to making this an accessible event. We plan to provide live captioning, a quiet room, pastoral care, and childcare. Please contact us if you have any concerns about accessibility and we will make arrangements to help.
